Teaching & Leadership at a Glance
¡Hola! Welcome, and thank you for taking the time to get to know me. The 2026–2027 school year marks another year of growth in my work with young children and their families—a journey that now includes:

• 14 years working with children
• 10 years of teaching experience
• 6th year as Lead Preschool Teacher at St. Helen Elementary School

This year also marks my 2nd year as Preschool Assistant Director, a role in which I support preschool programming across both St. Helen Elementary and Immaculate Conception Schools. Key responsibilities include:

• Partner with teachers and administrators at both schools to support consistent, high-quality preschool programming
• Serve as a resource for parents and staff navigating questions about their child’s preschool experience
• Help bridge classroom-level teaching with school-wide preschool planning and support

Together, these two roles let me stay hands-on with children in my own classroom while also helping shape what preschool looks like across both school communities. I remain deeply committed to building strong partnerships with the families I work with and mentoring the educators around me. I believe a child’s success is a team effort—between teacher, family, and school community—and I strive every day to be a steady, trusted partner in that work.

A Little About Me
I’m originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, and grew up in a Latin American family as the oldest of three siblings. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading historical fiction, visiting museums, seeing Broadway musicals, and traveling.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to travel to Italy, France, Ireland, Mexico, Haiti, Austria, Germany, Spain, England, Nicaragua, Macedonia, Greece, Hungary, Albania, Peru, The Bahamas, Puerto Rico, and South Africa. Many of these trips included volunteer work with children, allowing me to experience communities and traditions around the world firsthand.

I also spent time living and teaching abroad in Kosovo, which challenged me to become a more resourceful and adaptable teacher and strengthened my ability to connect with families from a variety of backgrounds. Together, these opportunities helped shape the globally minded approach I bring to my classroom today.

My Teaching Philosophy
I will always do my part to spread and ignite a love for learning. This passion led to my decision to pursue teaching, coming from a desire to create a classroom where children are heard, valued, and empowered. I want my students to know that their thoughts and ideas matter and can have an impact on others—that their voices are important and powerful!

My Teaching Journey
Prior to my time at St. Helen, I served as the Lead Preschool and Childcare Teacher at Christ United Methodist Church Preschool in Kettering, Ohio, and as the Lead Preschool Teacher at St. Aloysius Gonzaga School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Earlier in my career, I gained valuable perspective teaching first grade at Prishtina High School in Kosovo. I also previously served as the Lead Preschool Teacher at ABC Preschool in Cincinnati, Ohio. My teaching journey officially began with student teaching in a kindergarten classroom at J.F. Dulles Elementary in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Education & Credentials
My academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and Biblical Studies from Cincinnati Christian University, complemented by graduate work in Reading Science at Mount St. Joseph University. I am a highly qualified and licensed educator, holding a state license to teach Pre-K through Grade 3. My qualifications also include an outstanding edTPA score of 47, reflecting my strong foundation in instructional planning, teaching, and assessment.
